Software Migration
Focused attention provided for a smoother transition.

Tested and documented Master Builder 2003 software for an HVAC contractor in order to facilitate conversion from their existing accounting software and various project management spreadsheet and database tools. My job was to understand how the software actually worked, follow up with technical support as needed, then train employees and assist with implementation of conversion to the new system.

Outsource Data Input and Billing Processing
Remote services saved time, increased efficiency and cut costs.

When a small, non-profit company for which I had developed a database system for accounting and billing incurred a vacancy in their accounting assistant position, I was able to run their system remotely and print their billing invoices for them. This turned into an ongoing arrangement where I ran their billing each month from my office, printing the invoices on their printer in Los Angeles, until the management retired and new management engaged my services to upgrade the database further.

Company Phone Book
Automation and outsourcing increased efficiency and allowed staff to focus on their specialties.

Conversion of a company phone book (approx. 3,000 entries) from PageMaker into a database format using FileMaker Pro. I suggested this project to save the company time in updating the book for semi-annual printing as well as for more frequent electronic publishing. I currently perform the regular updates to the phone book as an outsource service.

Course Catalog Revision
Quick solutions provided for a deadline driven project.

I updated an existing high school course catalog in PageMaker, taking advantage of features the original designer had not used. In so doing, I was able to make the updates go faster and the layout changes flow automatically from page to page without manual adjustments. I did the catalog update the following year, as well, since the school district did not have an employee qualified to do it.

Database Design Projects - FileMaker Pro
Increased efficiency of processes and the value of the data.

I have completed a number of database projects including recreating systems that were built in other programs, as well as automating procedures and records that were kept only manually. These database projects included: facilities maintenance tracking and work order processing; vehicle maintenance tracking and work order processing; equipment maintenance tracking, accounting and client billing system; sales order processing; automation of a filing system and file tracking; automation of invoice processing and budgeting. In addition to development of such databases, I have performed maintenance and upgrades on databases developed by others.
